Yes you do! This is asked more than anything about wireless cameras, so if you do not have power available at the desired camera location, then battery/solar power is one option, but will be at a relatively high cost.

Another myth is that wireless is inferior. Maybe sub-standard wireless, that has a 20 feet transmission range is, however not high quality wireless. It may be more expensive but you will have time saved in trenching or stringing cables.
