XTRALERT Vehicle Detection System

 

Our XTRALERT MD500 utilizes a patented magnetometer sensor system, which monitors only the movement of cars and/or truck. This device will not be triggered by people or animals walking, leaves blowing or any other activity.

When a vehicle drives past the sensor, the sensor detects the slight disturbance in the earth's magnetic field. Once the sensor has detected this slight change, it sends a wireless signal to the receiver. The receiver then emits an audible tone alerting you of activity. The LED on the receiver also flashes for 15 seconds

Our XTRALERT MD500 sensor will detect magnetic changes up to 12 feet from the mounting location and will transmit it's signal up to 500 feet (line of sight).

  1. A 'good' driveway SENTRY

    Placed my order over a week end, and MD500 was shipped the following Monday. It arrived two days later.

    The transmitter with the Magnetometer sensor works quite well. You will want to purchase two "C" akaline batteries.

    My application is mounted on a 4 X 4 post at my property line nearest the road. As supplied from the manufactuer it is 'set' for maximum sensitivity. The receiver is mounted in a window frame with 'clear vision' out to the transmitter unit. Total Distance is around 105 ft. Unit performed nicely upon installation with 'proof testing' by driving vehicle by the sensor.

    A couple of large vehicles out on the road were setting it off into alarm status because the distance to road is only 12 ft. I had to change the transmitter sensor sensitivity to 'low' to avoid false signaling. It is easy to make this change by following the included instruction.

    I would recommend this product if you want a 'silent sentry' to give you an advanced alert.

    As with any remoted radio frequency device, be sure to have a clear line of sight placement of the receiver and away from any metal such as siding etc.
